Our Story

Bridging Two Worlds

We make mezcal in Oaxaca the traditional way, and California agave spirit in Napa with wine country techniques. Two different places, same goal: make it right.

Two Expressions, One Philosophy

Oaxacan mezcal made the old way. California agave spirit made the new way. Both made right.

Heritage

Our Oaxacan line is made by maestros mezcaleros who've been perfecting their craft for generations. We don't make the mezcal - they do. We support authentic production: pit roasting, tahona milling, copper distillation.

Every bottle comes from maestros working in their home regions. We're not reinventing anything. We're getting their work to you.

Innovation

Our California line applies Napa winemaking know-how to agave. Agave uses less water than wine grapes - important in California's drought. We ferment cleanly, age carefully, and craft for food pairing.

We call it "California Agave Spirit" because legally, only Mexican spirits can be called mezcal. We respect that. This isn't mezcal - it's something new for California.

Our Commitments

Transparent Sourcing

We share exactly where our spirits come from, who makes them, and how they're produced. No secrets, no marketing fluff.

Clear Labeling

Our Oaxacan spirit is mezcal. Our Napa spirit is California Agave Spirit. Honest names that respect denomination rules.

Community Informed

We build in the open with feedback from tastings, industry experts, and the communities where we source.

Sustainable Practice

Low-water agave cultivation in California. Supporting traditional methods in Oaxaca. We think about drought and water use constantly.

Fair Partnerships

We pay fair prices to maestros and farmers. Long-term relationships, not transactional sourcing.

Fair Pricing

Small batches, made right. We’ll price our bottles to reflect what it truly costs to make them properly and pay everyone fairly — founding members will be the first to know.
